Mike Golden concentrates his practice in the areas of criminal law, civil rights violations, injury and death cases, probate, estate planning, and real estate transactions.
Mike earned his Juris Doctorate with High Honors from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1990, his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Marquette University in 1987, and is a graduate of Marist High School.
Mike joins Scannell & Associates after a 27 year career with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office where he spent time as the Chief of the Special Prosecutions Bureau as well as Supervisor of the Public Corruption and Financial Crimes Unit and Supervisor of the South Suburban Complex Homicide and Gangs Unit. In addition to his extensive trial experience, Mike has briefed and argued numerous cases in the Illinois Appellate Courts, including four cases before the Illinois Supreme Court. In 2016, he received the Mitch Mars Prosecutorial Excellence Award from the Chicago Crime Commission. Prior to working for the State’s Attorney’s Office, Mike served as a Judicial Law Clerk to Justice William G. Clark of the Illinois Supreme Court.
